Replica: heritage-compliant 1:1 reconstruction

BARTYN specialises in the uncompromising 1:1 reconstruction of historical front doors and wooden windows, true to style and dimensions. We preserve the architectural heritage and the unmistakable character of historical façades – from Baroque and Classicism through the Gründerzeit era to Art Nouveau. By combining traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, we bring historical replicas up to the latest state of the art in burglary protection, sound insulation and thermal insulation. A historical appearance and the passive house standard are not fundamentally incompatible — they only rule out certain profiles. Where heritage protection allows, we are able to achieve the passive house values; we will tell you what is possible for your reconstruction before production begins.

The BARTYN process: from historical substance to certified replica

Balancing the strict requirements of heritage protection authorities with the modern demands of building energy regulations requires a high-precision, digitally supported approach.

  • Precise capture and scan: Using high-resolution photos or precise 3D scans of the original components you send us, we capture every last detail of the historical model with millimetre accuracy.
  • Digital visualisation and CAD planning: Our detailed 3D simulation allows architects, planners and building owners to review the finished result digitally before production.
  • The heritage-protection advantage: Our faithful simulations and profile sections serve as a well-founded, legally sound basis for decisions and significantly speed up the approval process with the responsible heritage authorities.
  • Perfect production: We produce replicas that are visually indistinguishable from the historical original, yet at their core contain state-of-the-art sealing systems, highly efficient glazing and invisible security mechanisms.

Historical doors: representative one-offs in the original design

Front doors are the calling card of a historical building. BARTYN reconstructs historical portal and front doors with their characteristic features, without having to forgo contemporary comfort.

  • Faithful ornamentation: Precise reproduction of historical panel structures, hand-carved decorations, profiled cover strips and forged grilles or appliqués.
  • Invisible high-tech security: Integration of modern multi-point locks, cylinder protection rosettes and burglar-resistant glazing (up to RC2 / RC3) inside the door construction.
  • Thermal separation and tightness: Optimised frame constructions with continuous sealing levels and drop-down floor seals prevent draughts and permanently minimise energy losses.

Historical windows: Art Nouveau and period reproductions at the highest level

The reconstruction of historical wooden windows is one of the most demanding tasks in window making. Historical façades forgive no stylistic mistakes. BARTYN produces faithful reproductions – specialising, among other things, in the delicate and artistic geometries of Art Nouveau. With absolute dedication and deep knowledge of the material, we reconstruct the defining style elements of historical window bands.

Craftsmanship perfection in detail:

  • Cover strips and capitals: We produce profiled cover strips and weather strips exactly according to the historical model. Delicate capitals and profiled bases are worked true to detail from solid wood.
  • Weather bars: Historical windows feature characteristic wooden weather bars at the lower edge of the sash. We reconstruct these distinctive profiles in the original design.
  • Delicate profiles and narrow sightlines: To preserve the maximum incidence of light and the graceful appearance of historical windows, we produce extremely slender frame and sash profiles such as our Slimline 28, as well as genuine, heritage-compliant Viennese glazing bars (true divided-light bars on request).
  • Arched shapes made to measure: Whether an elegant round arch, segmental arch, basket-handle arch or artistic fanlights with delicate glazing-bar crosses – we master the traditional arch constructions with absolute precision of fit.
